Feeling human for me requires a balance of my professional face with the personal one.
Because I have recently become more serious about writing, it has also become a hobby. I write now to please myself and over the years, I have slowly developed this craft. My other profession in consulting is developing less rapidly, but I like the challenges it presents to me in my efforts to build an international profile.
The other parts of my life are dedicated to not honing anything other than my ability to sleep and relax. Stress burns too much energy, so I try to sleep stress off.
Reinvention after 40 - another exploration I'm becoming into. Other agreeable things into which I have eased: fresh mushrooms, or tente in CiNyanja, especially golden chantrelles; slowly brewed Italian espresso; rich, cheesecake; pasta with basil, chunks of tomatoes topped by a light drizzle of goat cheese; sweet, heavy South African red wine (any grape), pinakbet (Filipino dish of vegetable medley) with one chunk of fatty pork - palate tantalizers, ever present indulgences that get a second look.".
